How do I handle more than four people?
For groups larger than four, you can calculate the total weight of the additional members manually and include their sum as the fourth weight, or repeat the ratio calculation for each individual manually using the total sum of all participants.
What happens if the split doesn't equal 100%?
The weighting system is relative. If your total weights sum to 50 or 500, the calculator still treats each individual's weight as a fraction of that total. It will always normalize the shares so that the final contributions equal exactly 100% of the goal target.
How do I factor in varying levels of benefit from the goal?
If one participant will benefit more from the purchase or goal, you can increase their weight value beyond their income ratio. This accounts for 'usage' rather than just 'capacity,' ensuring the person gaining the most value contributes a larger share.
