This tool helps you find the perfect balance of coffee grounds and water to create either a strong concentrate or a ready-to-drink batch of cold brew.
Coffee Grounds Needed:
0
Total Water Required:
1000
Note: Your final beverage yield will be approximately 20% less than the water added, as coffee grounds absorb a significant amount of liquid during the long steep time.
The ratio for cold brew coffee is defined as the weight of dry coffee grounds relative to the volume of water used during the steeping process.
The basic formula is: Coffee Weight = Water Volume / Ratio
For instance, if you are using 1000ml of water and want a 1:8 Standard Ratio, the calculator will help you determine the exact weight of beans needed.
Use a very coarse grind, similar to sea salt, to prevent over-extraction and bitterness.
Steep for 12-18 hours at room temperature or up to 24 hours if kept in the fridge.
Concentrate (usually a 1:4 ratio) is intended to be diluted with milk or water, while Ready-to-Drink (1:8 or higher) is intended to be consumed as-is.
